J. Isaac Spradlin is currently working on a masters at the Goldring Arts Journalism program from the Newhouse School of Public Communications at Syracuse University.  His focus is on visual culture and books.

Isaac’s interest in visual culture stems from his studies in art history and pop at Kenyon College and the University of Louisville.  He majored in Humanities (B.A. 2006) with a focus on the 20th century–especially American and European art, literature, and popular culture since 1950.  The instructors who influenced him most include Drs. Jay Kloner, Dennis Hall, Tom Byers, Alex Blazer, Diane Pecknold, and Karen Gray.

Isaac is a former bookseller based in Louisville Ky. with his fiancee Niki and their four cats and two dogs.  He currently resides in Syracuse N.Y. as he works toward his master’s degree.

In his spare time you can find him reading, writing short fiction, jogging, listening to music, traveling, collecting images and ideas from adventures in the visual ecosystem, gathering local arts news, or supporting local businesses with his limited income.

This is his first website.
